picture of The LordshipFrom the outside, we were hopeful this once rundown but friendly local would still be an OK place to drink. Sadly, our expectations were quickly scuppered. It may have been clean and tidy, but our attention was immediately drawn to two women sitting screaming obscenities at each other. Elsewhere, a scattering of chavs and old men were either watching football or frittering away money in one of the 5 gaming machines. Nevertheless, we persevered and went to order from the uninspiring choice of lager. Unfortunately, we were flatly ignored by a sulky-looking teenager behind the bar - we still don't know if he was a member of staff. Whilst waiting for a grown-up to appear, we also noticed a parrot in a small cage on the back shelf of the bar. It may have been a one-off, but our experience in the Lordship was uncomfortable and unpleasant. You'd be forgiven for feeling sorry for this pub, but we felt sorrier for the parrot.
