picture of Old GlobeAstronomical objects abound in this area, what with the New Globe at Mile End, just up the road and Moon just up the way, but this one has precedence - the flashy exterior paint job is just there to fool you - it is the oldest of them all and so deserves the "Old" prefix. It's a solidly local local, not unfriendly at all, offering all amenities you'd expect - Charles Wells beer on the hand pumps, lagers etc, darts, quizzes and Sky TV for the sport (and the music when there's nothing to watch). The promotions for shots hint at more hedonistic aspirations, but this pub is about as dependable as they come.
