picture of The PrinceStanding on a picturesque green, The Prince is a testament to lost opportunity. On one hand, this pleasant two roomed pub had some nice points - an original fireplace, oak panelled back room, fresh flowers on the bar. On the other, it was woefully run down - the list of faults was long. One dark corner smelt of dog wee, presumably a present from one of the dogs wandering about. Of the 8 pool cues, only one wasn't broken and bits of light fittings and table tops were propped up against walls. The glass in a couple of pictures had been smashed, but the frame remained hanging, with bits of glass still in place, like something from Miss Havisham's house in 'Great Expectations' . We even noticed the large screen projector charmingly had "cock" written in the film of dust over the lens. The friendly Polish girl behind the bar was the only thing to rescue this pub from a zero pint rating. It could do so much better, so easily. Shame.
