Tucked away off a blink-and-you-miss-it mews, The Talbot is one of the less traditional pubs in the area. It's a big place, with plenty of standing room and seating both inside and out, but its character clearly suffers from the lack of imagination put into their hotel-lobby carpet and magnolia wall refit. Of course, things like carpet patterns don't matter to the less fussy afterwork crowd they're aiming at. Nevertheless, the food menu was extensive and there was the bonus of probably the only cash machine within a 10 minute radius. Although not bad by any means, with a number of rather excellent pubs with in walking distance, the incentive to stay for more than a couple is limited.
