No longer an unloved tourist trap off Oxford Street, the refitted model is now more akin to its near neighbour Claridges. With wood panelling, some sofas in the corner and a pricey pub nouveau menu it's a cut above a lot of the pubs-by-number in the area in both design and class of punter. However, with that comes certain habits of bar etiquette - our main bugbear being the return of your change on a silver tray - even if it's 5p. The bar is not massively well-stocked, and maybe more well suited to, well a bar maybe - fine if you're after a rum (Havana Club naturally) and coke, but the London Pride pump looked very lonely and a little out of place. There are worse pubs in the area, but also better ones with less attitude (according to their promotional literature this is a "traditional Mayfair gastro pub". Just like those traditional iPods you get these days).
