sorry no picture of this pubTucked away on the edge of Welling, the Green Man is a friendly local. We were particularly impressed with specific aspects of the pub's presentation, including a collection of prints depicting people in a state of merry inebriation on the walls, and hanging from the ceiling, several small boards on which a variety of aphorisms (not all of them booze-related) had been written: "There are more old drunkards than old doctors": erm, can we see a Venn diagram to illustrate that one, please? We were entertained to hear one of the customers boast about her holiday in Spain that, it appeared, had involved frequent visits to Iberian branches of Burger King. Ha! It's all jolly enough, seemingly aimed at families (nice big beer garden, kids playing on pool tables), but a proper pub all the same. There's a Thai restaurant upstairs. Some of the decor in the pub could do with a bit of sprucing up, but The Green Man has a bit of character, and Sir Gawain's adversary surely wouldn't have complained too much about that.
