Irish pubs have long been a feature of this part of town, even before O'Neill's jigged into town, so even with a few well known Irish pictures on the walls, there is nothing plastic-paddy about this one, and it even sports a magnificent Guinness sign on the wall outside. Big picture windows open the pub onto the wide pavement outside, and add to the allure. Inside though, all appeal melts away. Maybe it was the loud, brash euro-techno-trance at 5pm, or the one barman playing the puggy, or single men glumly supping in silence at the bar, but it wasn't looking good. The Guinness was fine of course, but the wine grim. Layout and seating were far from comfortable, but the dance floor and late licence (2am) indicate we might have been witnessing the advance party for a night out for the unambitious. Dizzy is how most people feel in a spinning wheel, and so did we as we left at speed to find another, any other, boozer. Oh, and one last gripe. There seems to be no justifiable reason for the lack of disabled facilities in this pub.
