picture of Bullet BarOnce down-at-heel music club The Verge, it wasn't totally surprising that someone would come along and give it a bit of a makeover. But not a simple paint job for Bullet though, as it all appears to have gone pretty upmarket, with spotlights, red leather chairs, dark and sultry lighting and an extensive cocktail list. You might be forgiven thinking this was all a tad pretentious, but we found it to be in direct contrast to the selection of regular and non-regular music nights they host. Most nights here seem to provide something interesting, from the Wednesday acoustic open mic evening, to up and coming indie bands and Sunday sessions - all performed on a stage which looks like a middle class families' front room. Not surprisingly, when there's entertainment on, it usually means a small charge on the door. Overall, though, its quite possible to have a good night here - which is just what we did; shame about that name, though.
