picture of ClaretThis is a bit of an anomaly, really, almost as if a (rather good) village pub has been airlifted in from ruralia, somewhere in the south of England, to a rather ordinary suburb that appears to be principally characterised by shops with appalling puns in their names (Vinyl Resting Place, Prawnbrokers). Claret is quite an old-fashioned pub, and has a strong emphasis on quality ales (six, relatively rare, ones available on draught on our visit, and three still and sparkling ciders too). Food-wise, a selection of rolls is available at the bar. It's not that big, but the mood is warm and welcoming.
