picture of Old Red LionA Mock Tudor pub from the 1930s, the rarity value of this one rises by the year. Well-serviced by its regulars, it's well worth the jaunt south if you want to check out a pub style slowly being realised as something worth preserving. Unlike many Red Lion pubs, this one plays the (Lion Rampant) Scottish card through its decor. Misty eyed Jacobites should note the large scale picture on the wall of Bonnie Prince Charlie arriving at Arisaig in 1745 - ideal if a spot of drinking the King o'er the water is your thing. It's certainly a local's local, but one whose interior raises it above the average.
