It's in the phone book as The White Hart though it's as the 'Terry Spinks' that this one is more commonly known (especially with the old boxer's name in lights on the exterior of the pub). Given its location it's not a surprise that this one's a West Ham pub. What is a surprise is how friendly and mixed the pub is - there's not too many in these parts that offer Indian Music and Dance nights. It's a pub where the playing of Happy Hardcore choons on a Friday night is interrupted for an airing of 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles', whilst oblivious pool hustlers have eyes only for the green baize. The sort of place that can be intoxicating enough even before you start on the drink. A rather grand interior too, the alcoves and skylight in the back bar being especially noteworthy. We'll be back - if nothing else to listen out for the tape of songs recounting West Ham's past glories and to see if the rumours of free post-match sandwiches prove to be true. A definite three pinter then, add another if you're of the Claret and Blue persuasion.
