how to find it:
Newbury Park: turn left along the Eastern Avenue and keep on walking. At the junction with Aldborough Road North turn left. You'll find the pub on your right shortly after the built-up area ends.Barkingside: there is a path from very near the tube station to very near the pub. Check your map for details, and read the signs carefully, as its easy to get lost... It's probably easier to walk from Newbury Park, in fact.

More a classy joint than a hangout for dandy A12 highwaymen, the Dick Turpin has much to commend it. Its isolated location in Aldborough Hatch seems to have encouraged the pub's management to take efforts to make a visit worthwhile. The pub is welcoming and with just about the right degree of sophistication. A large part of the building is given over to a dining area, although the smaller bar area also serves a fine range of food, and there are a few leather armchairs and sofas ideal for sinking into at the end of a long day. We greatly appreciated the background music, not too loud, including some Tom Petty and some vintage Kylie. There are some interesting screen prints on the walls too.
