Regular visitors to Fancyapint.com might undergo déjà vu whilst reading this review. Why? The Roebuck is another refurb in the predictable noughties pub-style consisting of leather sofas, exposed floorboards, art on the walls and unobtrusive dance music - hell, you know the routine by now. Gastro-ish main courses can be enjoyed for around £10, a range of Meantime and Purity ales on tap await, along with a range of lagers, Guinness, cider etc. The Roebuck is definitely a smart, relaxing pub aimed at a certain audience who clearly love it. After all, Bermondsey is hardly Clapham (yet) and there aren't many places of this kind nearby. For us, however, it is slightly predictable, but the lively atmosphere means it still receives a solid three pint rating.
