how to find it:

From Walthamstow Central: Turn right out of the station, cross over and proceed left up Hoe Street to the next set of lights. Go right up Church Hill and carry on, bearing right and staying on Church Hill until you reach Shernhall Street. Turn right and the pub is straight ahead on the opposite side of the road.

picture of Lord Brooke This is a solid local pub with friendly bar staff and tolerant locals. While the family tolerant policy might put some people off, this has to be the only pub in London - at least outside of Epping Forest - with a swimming pool! (Granted, we're pretty sure it's for the kids and not the drunken adults). It's a good pub and the addition of kids doesn't make it intolerable. The only real beer on tap was Worthington, but the regulars didn't seem to mind too much. This is a good one to go sit outside on a nice day and soak up some sunshine. Magic. (and it's got a swimming pool!).
