picture of The Bakers ArmsAfter being closed for a good while, it was a pleasure to discover the the Bakers Arms has reopened. Considering its name is synonymous with the area (the area is named after the pub, which catered for the bakers living in the nearby almshouses) hopes were perhaps unjustly high. Sadly its nothing amazing and is a semi-modernised, stripped-out and basic pub, with a heavy emphasis on large-screen football. On our last visit it seemed very popular with the local West-Indian population and often has music in the evenings to match this.
