This is a jolly decent little boozer that's ideal for a quick drink or a longer session (space permitting). Sporting not much more than a jukebox and a small TV, the pub has a great deal more character than many of the more renowned Soho pubs and being just a little bit off the main drags, a little less crowded. The beer is decent, the service is good - the Star & Garter offers a welcome respite from the area's trendsetting stylistas and serves as a reminder that you don't need to do a lot, just do it well, to run a welcoming and hospitable pub. It is closed on Sundays.
