how to find it:

From Walthamstow Central: try to take the right-hand exit from the station and head up the ramp. Cross Selborne Road at the lights, past The Goose, turning left into Hoe Street and carry on up the road. The pub is about 10 minutes walk, and is on the corner opposite the snooker hall.

picture of The BellThis is a huge former gin palace in another somewhat sparsley-pubbed area of East London. The clientele are a culturally diverse lot, but there's none of the tension you sometimes get in these situations - it's very relaxed and chilled. We wandered in and everyone soon ignored us like they were ignoring everyone else. The main bar area is dominated by the giant screen on one wall, with a few smaller screens dotted around the rest of the pub. The landlady is very friendly, even offering to bring over a drink once the barrel had been changed. It's got the usual suspects on tap, does food and has a good atmosphere. Worth the walk.
