Boston Arms, Kentish Town  

What with the stately exterior and the renowned Dirty Water Club next door, we've been keen to have a look at the Boston Arms for a while. Unfortunately, we were somewhat disappointed when we finally got there. Perhaps that tower on the outside promised too much, but we thought there would be an inkling of that grandeur inside. Alas, much of the décor seems to have been stripped away, leaving an interior not unlike that of a large Social Club - the cry of the bingo caller never seems too far away. Still, the punters seem happy enough with the entertainment on offer: giant TV screens fill the perspective but a pool table - and two tucked away dartboards, suggesting a pub that takes its games seriously (and one look at the packed trophy cabinet proves it). An adequate range of drink behind the bar but the cheap and filling food really hits the spot.
