picture of Zigfrid / UnderbellyIf it's in Hoxton Square, it must be cool, or so it seems to many people. Well we hate to disappoint you, but in this instance, we feel that this place never really had it in the first place. It ought to be OK - there's a decent range of drink - including its own Zigfrid beer - and the food isn't bad and not overpriced. The interior is pretty conventional and there's a wide range of seating, but, as ever, it's small things that let it down adding up to a disappointing experience overall. For example, the lights were nearly completely extinguished when it was decided a little more atmosphere was necessary and at the same time the music was cranked up to warzone levels when there was hardly anyone in the place - effectively rendering our continued eating and conversation impossible. If it was a ploy to rid the place of people deemed by the management to be uncool, it worked - we left.
