This large local got a makeover not long ago, which probably wasn't a bad thing. It's now a mix of traditional pub features and more trendy pub couture, which works somehow. Prints of old Stratford line the walls, comfy chairs and stripped floors, none of which detracts from the 'ambience'. It can get busy, particularly at weekends, as it's just over the main road from the Rex. With cheap beer on tap (if mostly lager, only one ale on tap), stalwart and friendly regulars, and large tellies, it's a bit of a haven from the bars and clubs nearby. It's got seats outside to enjoy any good weather in East End world, if you don't mind being inches from the busy High Street. Still, it's a good place to watch the sport or play a little pool without any hassle and have a few beers.
