how to find it:

The best station to use is Bromley South. Come out of the station and turn right, and walk up the hill. Walk though the pedestrians only area when you get to the end, turn right and the Partridge is the first pub on the left hand side of the main road.

picture of The PartridgeApparently this Fuller's Ale and Pie house used to be a bank and consequently the décor is rather grand. Its reminiscent of a ballroom, with high ceiling, marble pillars, chandeliers, carved wood and even a row of busts above the bar. There are alcoves and two smaller side rooms, but there's less seating than you'd imagine so you can often find nowhere to sit at peak times. It tends to be the place people go when they've done their shopping, rather than for a loud and crazy night out. There's quite a pleasant seating area outside, too, but again it is limited and fills up very quickly in the summer. They also have an excellent selection of ales and wines, and the menu is pretty good, with a focus on pies. Overall, probably Bromley's only centrally located pub which still has a traditional feel and a degree of class.

Eating at The Partridge ... we last ate here on 20/03/2008

Selection of pies around £8, plus a few other dishes. The Partridge pie (which slightly confusingly was a Chicken pie) was very good but the veg were cooked to death. The Fish and Chips failed on the fish part, which was thin and suspiciously bony for a fillet. Chips good though.
