how to find it:

Dagenham Heathway: turn left out of the station, then head along the first road on the left, Parsloes Avenue. Keep going until you come to Keppel Road, on the right (opposite Sydney Russell School and Leisure Centre). Walk along Keppel Road to the end, them cross over and turn right along Wood Lane. You will find the pub on your left, before the junction with Charlecote Road.

Everything but everything is cherry-coloured and the walls are covered with vintage posters for Delta Airlines, the Bronx Expressway, and such Americana. More importantly, there are nowhere enough places to sit, and barely enough ledges to rest your pint upon should you thereby be obliged to stand. Unlike some pubs we know on the Becontree Estate, the Cherry Tree isn't an absolutely terrible place (it has a certain vivacity, for one thing), but it is just a bit naff.
