picture of The ElginAn old Firkin pub that's been reborn in an agreeable fashion. Butcher block tables and menus on clipboards are sops to gastropub culture, but the rest of the place is more traditional in feel. It's a fair size, with some remaining glass and tilework from its Victorian heyday. There's a reasonable selection of ales on tap and an even better range of bottled Belgian beers. The pub grub is decently priced for this part of town and the overall impression is of a fine pub, whether for passing punters just after one or locals settling in for a longer session.
