The Londesborough is one of a mini-chain of four pubs operating in the N16 and N1 areas. They've used the same winning formula in every one, having taken stock of the influx of 22-36 year old flat-sharers/trendy families in the area and refitted the pubs to match. Pretty much every pub in the chain looks the same, although not necessarily in a bad way. It certainly seems to work, as the pub is roomy, has comfortable furniture and an excellent selection of spirits. There's also a good selection of beer, including Harvey's award-winning bitter on our visit . Unobtrusive DJs perform between Thursdays and Saturdays and Sunday sees the emergence of weekend newspaper readers and irritating small children in equal measure, accompanied by expensive but excellent Sunday Lunches. Indeed, nothing on sale is particularly cheap, but the Londesborough's owners aren't stupid and know the type of local they attract are perfectly happy to pay for quality.
