Out of Putney mainline station, then right down Upper Richmond Road. Right into Charlwood Road, and finally right again into Lacey Road. From East Putney tube: left down the Upper Richmond Road, then right into Charlwood Road and right again into Lacey Road.

Situated in the quiet suburban road of Lacey Street, SW15, the Jolly Gardeners is a rather good gastropub. In keeping with other such establishments, this one's all dim lighting, comfy leather seats, blackboards and coffee-table mix tapes on the stereo. Still, a nice, roomy, welcoming place, and not a bad selection of beers: when we visited Hopback Summer Lightning and Adnam's were on and well kept. We can't speak for the food unfortunately as we were too lazy to get out of our leather sofas near the cosy fire and order any. Still, it looked pretty much par for the course with mozzarella, olives, ciabattas and the like in abundance. If you're in the area and fancy that kind of thing you could do far worse.
