how to find it:

Out of Beckton DLR, cross the road directly in front of you and walk towards the Asda mall. Go right through the mall and the Tollgate is on the other side, directly in front of you.

picture of Tollgate TavernSituated right outside Beckton's Asda-dominant shopping precinct and close to almost nothing of interest, its safe to say the Tollgate has a captive audience. Its rather like slightly newer, less grubby Wetherspoons in décor, with swirly carpets and hotel lobby furniture, but it was comfortable enough. The beer was nothing to write home about, but everyone was seemed happy enough, enjoying the large screen football and cheap, cheap food. With friendly service, a dartboard and pool table, if you happen to be in Beckton this is, albeit by default, the best choice in the area.
