how to find it:

Take the Piccadilly north side exit from Green Park. The park should be opposite you. Turn right and walk about five minutes down Piccadilly toward Hyde Park. Clarges Street is on your right.

picture of Samuel PepysGrows on you, this one. Long bar, with oak panelling and leather sofas. It's quite large so always easy to find a cosy nook, be it armchair, bench or booth. Service is efficient if not particularly friendly and they certainly know both how to pour a pint of Guinness and to remember large rounds. Good for groups, but also fine for a quiet pint whilst reading, free from the tourists of Shepherd's Market and unobtrusive music. Even when the football's on it doesn't get rowdy. Not bad at all.
