Stockwell: exit tube, turn left and keeping walking along South Lambeth Road. After about five minutes walk, cross the road and you'll see the pub. St. Stephen's Terrace is the first on your left. From Vauxhall: take exit onto South Lambeth Road and keep walking.

Last time we came here a few years ago, this pub was moving away from gastro towards becoming again a somewhat more 'proper' pub. Subsequently we can see they've maintained this approach. Looking like many a typical Victorian pub which has plumped for the stripped out look, there's a mix of large and small tables, a few sofas, table footy and a couple of screens for sport. Saturday afternoon isn't always the best time to judge a pub, but it was pretty laid back here, with only a few people round the back of the bar taking interest in the Premiership. Service was friendly and efficient while we saw some food coming out of the kitchen which looked fine. The ale situation was adequate; even if two of the four pumps was off, the Wadworth 6x was in good nick. Not a pub worth travelling any distance for, we spent a comfortable enough time here to award a three pint rating.
