how to find it:
Leave Farringdon station and turn left and left again and head up Turnmill Street. Go up to Clerkenwell Road, cross it and head into Clerkenwell Green, just in front of you. Turn right, walk through the green and then turn left into Sekforde Street, keeping the church on your left. The pub is just up the road, on the corner on your right at the junction with Woodbridge Street.

A very pleasant Young's pub in an old residential area just off Clerkenwell Road. Of course, it's all residential round here nowadays, with all the warehouse conversions and new apartment blocks going up, but the Sekforde Arms is no arriviste - we'd hazard a guess that it's been like this round here from very early in the 19th century. The service is friendly, the beer very well-kept and the food unpretentious (and without the pretentious price tag). This pub fits very comfortably with its surroundings, it's a genuine local and (outside the immediate area) hardly anyone seems to know about it.
