With five bars in as many years to occupy this location, we were beginning to think it was cursed here. Consequently, we wish the Cedar Rooms better fortune than its predecessors. The interior - once all heavy wood panelling - is much lighter now, with a pleasant bright uplit orange flock-style border. The couches are comfortable even if it has minimised the overall seating capacity - it doesn't take much to be reduced to standing room only. The upstairs bar has become a dark and moody (some might say sexy) lounge which, on our visit, had a superb choice of music - but we do like good indie. It seems, in fact, the music policy is frequently interesting, ranging from indie through to rock, electro and soul, depending on the night. The service too is more pleasant than many bars we know and its a good sign when the bouncers aren't there to hassle you unnecessarily. Overall, with three late night venues around Highbury Corner, this is the best of the lot.
