how to find it:
Rather sneakily, Highgate tube is a fair walk from Highgate Village. It should take about 15 mins to get from one to the other. Leave Highgate tube by the 'car park' exit so you're on the Archway Road. Cross the road and walk up Jacksons Lane till it meets Southwood Lane. Keep on Southwood Lane until you reach Highgate High Street. Turn left and walk down the street - the pub will be on your left just opposite The Angel pub. Alternatively walk (or catch the bus) up Highgate Hill from Archway. The pub is on the right as you reach the top of the hill.

Whatever your taste, there's pretty much a pub for you in Highgate. This is the one for any exiles from Erin (Cork especially so) who've made it to N6. Signs of the Old Country are kept to a minimum (mostly hurling pennants and photos) though the man in charge seemed your archetypal chatty Irish landlord. It's the sort of stripped down pub where the emphasis is on drinking, a bit of darts, watching the sport and chatting with your mates. Sounds a decent recipe to us.
