picture of The Three CrownsAn unremarkable unreconstructed boozer which, despite being the nearest pub to Old Street tube, is by no means the busiest. Initial impressions are that the place is sparse, but the bulk of the tables and chairs are situated towards the back behind the balcony overlooking the basement pool room. At lunchtimes there's no surprises, catering mainly for the local business crowd and in the evenings and at weekends it's more of local residents' thing, as its close to a number of estates. The only ale is Directors, but there's prompt service and with three pool tables, its your best chance in the area to get a game.
