picture of WaterfrontStep inside this late 1990's bank conversion and let's start the pub-bar debate. If you are a decent pub and beer man you will probably hate it. If you are a 20something funster you may love it. Furnished as from an explosion at a pine warehouse, with guttering candles at every table and the latest editions of Film, Cosmopolitan or Maxim in the magazine rack what is the point of going in there for a quiet pint? They appear to have ceased showing Sky sport - attracts the wrong type. There is one bitter - Courage, off on this visit - and 2.90 seemed steepish for San Miguel among the lager range. But the crop-topped, interesting-tattoo-exposing, chatty Page 3 cutey and her rather surly male colleague (not jealous of old Dino surely?) aren't there for the beer. The cocktail list is extensive (and it's two for one weeknights between 1700-1900) as are the shooters. And there is a decent wine list. The continental style (AKA All Bar One clone) menu looks OK on paper and on Monday nights two pizzas and a bottle of wine are on offer at 20. It's a fair stab at bringing the West Endcontinental style café-bar to the suburbs - but you pays your money and you takes your choice.
