No longer sharing a name with an antiestablishment poet, the more regal King's Head is now a rebranded Nicholson's pub. Having seen off the Duke of Albemarle across the road - another Nicholson's pub that was closed down not long after this one opened up - the nearby Clarence is now also under the Nicholson's banner. At times, it can be hard to tell this one apart from the Clarence, as both of them stick rigidly to the Nicholson's branding. The King's Head offers a bit more space, though it's hard to see this one as much more than just another above average afterwork pub. It does the job, but it doesn't quite stir the emotions.
