how to find it:

Turn right from Mitcham tram station onto London Road, and head for the Cricket ground. The pub is just at the junction with Cricket Green, on the left of London Road.

picture of Hooden on the GreenPerhaps the mock-rustic interior has a pacifying effect, but this one feels less oppressive than some of the other boozers in Mitcham. A fair bit of space to it too. Unlike some of the other pubs around here, it feels the sort of place comfortable and convivial enough for more than one drink. Maybe we just caught it on an extremely good day, but we got the impression this one's a better bet than most of its neighbours.
