how to find it:
From Bond Street station cross the road and turn left, going west up Oxford Street. Just past the first set of traffic lights you come to, there is a signpost which points to a very narrow alleyway - St. Christopher's Place. Follow this and go up the alley until you come to Wigmore Street at the opposite end. The pub is on the corner on your left.

A large pub on several floors, it tends to get packed with office workers weekday evenings, shoppers during opening times at weekends and then shop workers relaxing after the day's mayhem. The layout is designed to get as many people in as possible (especially the ground floor) so it's not really a place for a relaxing pint. Given the crowds you are constantly moving out of the way to allow access to the bar, but it is a little more relaxed upstairs. However, it's quite a handy place to meet up in as it's easy to find and there is food to sustain you if high octane shopping has worn you down. The non-smoking downstairs bar seems to show a side of Pontefract we never knew existed - a Spanish style bar. It's available for hire and can be quiet when the rest of the pub is heaving.
