Visit a pub between Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush and it's probably a boozer bordering on scuzzdom, or a conversion aimed at the gastro market. If you're really unlucky, an Australian bar. The Andover Arms doesn't fit into any of those categories - even if its menu has been given a gastro tweak of late - being a decent, well-run locals pub. Good Fuller's beers, friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere make this one of the best drinking holes in W6. It's the sort of comfortable pub where 'popping in for one' may stretch to an afternoon session. If you like your pubs in London to be hidden away with a 'village' air to them, hunt this one down.
