how to find it:

From Liverpool Street, go through the arcade of shops at station level. This takes you out into a plaza with a large rusty sculpture in the middle. Go past the rust and bear right along Eldon Street. It's about 150 metres up and on the corner on the right. From Moorgate, take the Moorgate exit and cross the street. Turn left and head up toward the lights. Turn right at the lights and you should see the pub about a 100 metres in front of you on the left.

picture of Red LionThis one can be OK and it's a better place to meet people at Liverpool Street than the pubs that are closer to the station. As a result, it gets pretty rammed at peak times, particularly commuter time, but it settles down afterwards. Nothing here you won't find in the other pubs in the T & J chain, but it's a competent enough boozer and in this neck of the woods, that's a luxury. (Closed on weekends).
