A fair while ago The Coach and Horses cleaned itself up and became a successful and popular tastefully modernised pub. At the tail end of 2007 it was taken over and the new owners have built on the positives of this pub. If anything, they've improved matters here. A decent, unpretentious and reasonably priced menu has been installed, which promises to be entirely home cooked, right down to the sauces. The choice of ale is also pretty good, with four available at any one time. Outside seats give the smokers and their pals a space for summer drinking and traffic watching. On our visit, a smart mid week crowd was in situ, but for those into football, there's a couple of big screens downstairs and a couple more plasma screen upstairs to keep you entertained. As it's just far enough from Clapham Common to avoid the worst of the maddening SW4 crowd, this has to be rated as one of the better pubs in the area.
