picture of Royal OakAn old boozer that's been 'Clapham-ified' to fit with the trends of the area. Can't say we ever visited the the pub's previous incarnation, but if reports are true it's now a safer place for a drink than before. As for the refurbished version, it's not as achingly trendy as some of the other bars on Clapham High Street, but a sense of studied cool rather than genial warmth pervades. Still a decent pint of Adnams (both Bitter and Broadside) was to be had and the menu intrigued. Comfortable enough, but just a bit lacking in atmosphere on our visit.
