picture of Prince of WalesCleaver Square is a beautifully preserved square which, in Kennington, stands out 'like a tarantula on a slice of angel cake' (thank you, Raymond Chandler). The Prince of Wales lives up to its location too. It's a relaxed place with some good beer (Spitfire, Oranjeboom and others) to quench thirsts, a decent wine list, great service and excellent food. We've enjoyed a selection of their ciabattas on previous visits and the beef pie comes recommended; we suspect the other daily specials also make the grade, too. The excellent music on the stereo is just a bonus. An unspoilt pub and the best in Kennington.

Eating at the Prince of Wales ... we last ate here on 15/08/2007

The beef pie & mash, at a reasonable £6.95, was superb. A proper pie, it was filled to the brim with meat. A little dry perhaps, but a gravy boat was supplied to prevent this being an issue. Food served lunchtimes and in the evening until 9pm most days.
