picture of The VanbrughThe Vanbrugh (the Tavern appendage has been dropped) is a pleasant neighbourhood local with a certain charm. Recently, it has undergone a makeover. A new sign and paintwork outside, some trendifying interior touches, designed to attract younger and wealthier locals in the area. Personally, we preferred it before but it's still a decent pub. There's live music, but it's not an ideal venue for it - as it tends to get bunged in the narrow back room. But the award-winning, lush beer garden at the back is ideal for a sunny day.
