picture of The Half MoonThis is a bit of a black pearl in an area which has few decent, untouched, pubs. It has the decayed Edwardian décor - dark wood, plush seating and some beautiful glasswork - and the decayed grandeur so many of us enjoy. It's a pretty spacious and friendly place presided over by a genial landlord. Upstairs there's a boxing club and a slightly poncier boxercise club, so you may get some interesting fellow drinkers in. There are few frills, and the beer is so-so, but it's a fun place and there's a damn fine jukebox too. It's nice and spacious and has in the past hosted bands and comedy shows. If pubs with classic interiors are your thing, it's well worth a visit.
