Like many of the pubs around Oxford Street, this one has a curious mix of stray tourists, shoppers and locals. The Last Bid is a down-at-heel place minded more for heavy drinking than relaxation. The crummy toilets, blaring pop music, raucous clientele and strident booze offers plastered all over the place (we guess in lieu of any real décor) create an air of chaos and confusion, enhanced by the lingering vestiges of its Oirish pub past. When we first visited here a couple of years ago, we thought it must be on its last legs, but it continues - proof that selling booze is sometimes all you need to do.
