picture of Kings HeadAnother old pub rejigged in the modern style (read: wooden floorboards and sofas). It's hardly original, but there are a few unusual touches of decor and it's hard to argue when there's friendly service and a decent selection of drink. There's also a nice pub garden which plays host to some barbecues. It's the sort of place that could easily be a nightmare in the middle of town, but up in leafy North London it's easy going atmosphere is fine for an afternoon of ale-fuelled contemplation. The only reason it receives an average two pint rating is for the quality of the food, which is both overpriced and poor quality.

Eating at the King's Head ... we last ate here on 15/02/2008

Two visits here to eat, twice disappointed. On our last visit the beef stroganoff at £9.50 was fine, but the Fish & Chips at an expensive £10 was a thin, overcooked, nasty piece of fish, accompanied by badly cooked potato wedges. Unacceptable.
