The refer two or three years ago breathed new life into this one - nicely redesigned by the landlord's sister. We were unsure about it to begin with, but the management has stayed stable and kept standards up. Run by a family team, we'd say this one's doing pretty well. Sure it gets a lot of tourist trade, but that's a risk of where it is. That said, you can still star-spot in here (Paul Merton was in last time we stopped by). Decent enough, but not one for beer lovers - we had to make do with Guinness as the rest of the beer seemed to be continental lager and Hoegaarden. Still, the food looked good and the prices seemed reasonable. They also offer after theatre entertainment of an evening, taking advantage of later opening hours, and apparently musicians turn up frequently to do impromptu sessions after their shows. The relaxed atmosphere washes over the patrons, and they seem pretty chilled, all in all. Give it a go.
