how to find it:

From the Tube: cross over the main road and go through the shopping centre. Go straight through and turn immediately right out of the shopping centre. When you get to the Yates's Wine Lodge, cross over and the pub is directly across the pedestrian crossing.

picture of Ye Olde Black Bull Gutted and refurbed throughout, this one's changed a bit. Gone is the slightly grotty Irish bar that was, in comes the chrome and glass and framed photos on the walls. They've spent a bit of money on the refurb, including the Bull on the outside of the building. But don't let that put you off - while the old Black Bull had its charms, it wasn't that conducive to pulling in the punters and now we can't see that they'll have much trouble. It serves decent beer, with Deuchars, Bombardier and IPA on when we were in last and there's the promise of reasonably priced food, too. The garden at the back is a bit of an oasis, and far enough from Stratford's one-way system to keep the hydrocarbons down. The racing on a Saturday afternoon suggests it's still a bit of an Irish pub, but the punters definitely didn't mind. Give it a go.
