how to find it:

From either East Putney tube or Putney BR station, head to Putney High Street and head up Putney hill. The pub is right on the corner, just before the Heath starts. No more than a 15 minute walk, or a few minutes if you get a bus (most of which handily stop outside the pub).

picture of The Green ManIf you're in Putney and fancy a change from the identikit bars of the High Street, get a bus up the hill to the Green Man. It's a lovely old place, playing host to thirsty walkers from Putney Heath and locals after a chinwag. Once an old-fashioned two roomed affair, it's been opened up somewhat to increase its capacity, but that hasn't spoilt the atmosphere. The beer is, of course Young's - pretty decent it is too, and there's the usual reasonable wine list if you're not in a CAMRA mood. Handy for an outdoor drink in the summer, yet cosy enough for a winter's evening as well. (new picture to come)
