how to find it:

Exit Bond Street tube onto Oxford Street, turn right round and head away from Oxford Street down Davies Street. Then turn left along Brook Street until you find Avery Row on your right. The pub is down Avery Row on your left.

picture of Iron Duke (ex Fullers Ale Lodge) It's had a lick of paint and some new furniture to go with the name change. It's still a pretty small pub (no building work in this refurbishment), but the well-kept Fuller's beers, good traditional pub food and quick and friendly service haven't changed the drinking experience. The usual crowd of local workers still frequent it, the atmosphere is still the same and we're relieved that it's not been altered beyond recognition as is so often the case after a refurbishment. It can still be a hard pub to find, hence the common site of chaps on mobiles outside the pub barking out directions to their chums. Maybe not one to go out of your way for, but in a rather exclusive part of town it's nice to stumble across a relatively down-to-earth pub.
