Come out of Blackheath station and go to the 2nd bus stop on the right. Take a bus to Royal Standard and you can't miss it.

picture of Royal StandardAnother old boozer that was taken over and given a new lease of life. What was a mess of a place is now bright, airy and really very friendly. We can imagine that Friday & Saturday nights leave little to the imagination, but during the week it is a reasonable place to grab a swift spot of refreshment. The freshly cooked pizzas are cheap but very tasty and little courtyard at the rear makes a lovely spot to catch those rare rays of sun. The leather double bed in the main bar is certainly a talking point, but while fine for a quick drink, you may not want to spend the night!
